OpenText release TeleForm 16.5.1

OpenText have released the latest update to their forms processing solution TeleForm. The new version is OpenText TeleForm 16.5.1. The previous release from OpenText was version 16.5.

In this blog, we provide an overview of the latest update, including a jargon-busting explanation of each new feature.

What is TeleForm?

TeleForm provides a complete solution for processing paper forms. In particular, TeleForm excels where very high-volume data capture is required.

Unlike other products, TeleForm enables the design of forms that are optimised for data capture. This is critical to ensure high recognition rates when scanning.

TeleForm provides a variety of ways to capture scanned forms and extract the data from the forms. After the data is automatically validated against back-end systems, TeleForm enables users to review and verify data and correct it if needed. Once verified, TeleForm enables you to export the data to other systems or hand it over to LiquidOffice for further processing.

New updates

TeleForm 16.5.1 includes several new features that are intended to improve performance, recognition, quality and platform support.

Enhanced barcode recognition

An updated version of the OpenText Capture Recognition Engine has been included in TeleForm that helps improve barcode recognition and performance in most cases.

QR barcode recognition

Support for QR code recognition has been added.

Spanish language

TeleForm is now available with a Spanish installer and user interfaces.

Hidden template folders

The “Hide templates in restricted folders” option in the Global System–Security dialog has been enhanced to hide folders from users who are not part of the selected security group. Previously, only the templates were hidden. Note: that folders are not hidden if they contain sub-folders the user has rights to view.

Enhanced logging

Logging in the tfinstall.log file has been expanded to include additional information regarding failure or success, and information that can be used for troubleshooting purposes.

Fixes

A total of 19 issues have been addressed in this latest release. Please contact us if you would like confirmation if one of your issues has been fixed.

Updated documentation

The following documentation has been improved to make it easier to find and understand:

Updated platform support

TeleForm has added support for the following platforms:

• Microsoft Active Directory 2019
• SQL Server 2017
• Windows Server 2019
