Digital transformation solutions
From document scanning and indexation to enterprise-wide business process management, we provide digital transformation solutions to automate operational processes and accelerate digital transformation.
What is digital transformation?
According to Wikipedia, digital transformation is the adoption of digital technology to transform services or businesses, through replacing non-digital or manual processes with digital processes or replacing older digital technology with newer digital technology.
In the past, digital transformation was viewed by executives as a way of getting ahead of the competition. Today, digitisation is seen as a necessity, a way of future-proofing the organisation. Indeed, PwC found that although 52% of companies plan to cut or defer investments because of COVID-19, only 9% will make those cuts in digital transformation.
The term itself is quite broad and encompasses a wide variety of technologies (cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotic process automation, and more), and industry sectors like retail and banking. Additionally, in “The Nine Elements of Digital Transformation”, Westerman, Bonnet, and McAfee identified three key areas where executives are digitally transforming their enterprises. These areas are 1) customer experience 2) operational processes, and 3) business models. Their research has recently been updated in “The New Elements of Digital Transformation”.
From document scanning and indexation to enterprise-wide business process management, we provide process automation solutions to effect digital transformation in the second pillar of “The Nine Elements of Digital Transformation”, namely operational processes.

Document scanning
For organisations with low volumes or irregular projects, outsourcing your data capture requirements to a document scanning bureau may be more cost-effective than purchasing data capture software.
Our document scanning bureau is equipped with industry-leading data capture software and high-performance scanners. Our bureau services include:
- design and printing of form templates
- merging data and print of forms
- delivery and collection of printed forms
- scanning, classification, and extraction
- data verification
- data export and reporting
eStore, our document management software, is available for the archival and retrieval of scanned images.
Automated data capture
For organisations with ongoing or high-volume scanning requirements, automated data capture software is available.
With automated data capture software, you scan the paper forms on-site using a high-speed scanner rather than key-in data manually.
OpenText TeleForm
TeleForm automatically captures and indexes data and images from any form type, using handprint (ICR), machine print (OCR) and checkbox (OMR) recognition technology, ready for export to a database.
It aims to reduce manual data entry time by 90% or more and can eliminate hundreds of operator keystrokes.
ABBYY FlexiCapture
ABBYY FlexiCapture is a highly scalable forms processing solution for intelligent and accurate extraction of data from structured, semi-structured and unstructured forms and documents for input into backend applications for further processing and archiving.
A paper-light strategy is the first step on your journey towards full digitalisation. It may be more realistic than going paperless and allows organisations to take on digital transformation at their own pace.
Business process management
For organisations seeking to go further by eliminating paper and automating manual processes, business process management software is the perfect companion. It offers rapid low-code development of sophisticated, forms-based, workflow-driven applications.
Process Director
BP Logix Process Director is an award-winning low-code BPM platform for creating rich digital applications.
LiquidOffice
Fully web-based, LiquidOffice is a business process management solution for creating, deploying and automatically managing the routing, tracking and approval processes for electronic forms.
Rolling out digital transformation initiatives
There is no doubt that organisations in all sectors are embarking on a path to digital transformation and the Covid-19 pandemic is likely to accelerate this trend over the next few years. In fact, according to McKinsey, the pandemic has seen companies accelerate the digitisation of their internal operations by three to four years.
But…
In the context of BPM, trying to implement full enterprise digital transformation too fast is fraught with danger. Often, it is hard to implement as there are competing requirements (and personalities!) and the project quickly becomes muddled. Implementing digital transformation solutions too fast might indicate limited (or no) user acceptance testing (UAT). The knock-on effect of limited UAT is the possibility users will fail to adopt the new technology as part of their normal working behaviour.
The answer to these challenges is to introduce BPM software incrementally to smaller, departmental processes. The result is a quick win and reduced risk, allowing for a more agile approach during the early stages of adoption.
Once you have successfully rolled out the technology in one area, it can be deployed quickly to other business processes as you have an existing agreement with the vendor in terms of users, reusable components, and management buy-in. This empowers early adopters to act as champions and embed knowledge as the roll-out continues.
A successful example of this approach is Rentokil Initial, the global pest control and hygiene services provider, who initially automated their capital expenditure request approval process and subsequently rolled out the technology (BP Logix Process Director) to additional business functions such as M&A and procurement processes.
