Process Director comes with two form builders, one based on Microsoft Word, and another on Microsoft Visual Studio. The Word-based builder enables you to create rich, dynamic forms using a tool with which your users are already familiar. The Visual Studio-based builder is aimed at .Net developers who require advanced technical features.

An integrated rules engine provides a powerful method of defining rules and conditions that control the behaviour of the forms (e.g. field validation, visibility, appearance and context-sensitive forms). Based on rules that you configure, at various stages in a workflow (or even during data input), individual fields or entire sections or tabs can be made:
