What is the Cyber Essentials scheme?

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help protect organisations, whatever its size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.

Part of the National Cyber Security Strategy, the Cyber Essentials scheme provides an audit of defences against cyber attacks as well as system weaknesses so that companies can better protect data stored on devices that connect to the Internet.

This recertification demonstrates our continuing commitment to providing a secure environment for information security and, crucially, reassurance to our customers that their data is protected.

How is Cyber Essentials implemented?

ePC has achieved the Cyber Essentials re-certification, which involves completing an in-depth audit of our controls and procedures. This audit is reviewed by our certifying body to ensure compliance with the Cyber Essentials exacting requirements.

Why is Cyber Essentials important?

Cyber attacks are becoming more common, costing businesses of all sizes millions in lost revenue and productivity.

Over the last year, 32% of businesses and 24% of charities suffered a security breach. Among those identifying any breaches or attacks, it was estimated that the single most disruptive breach cost each business an average of approximately £1,100.

Cyber Essentials certification helps us guard against cyber-attacks and offers reassurance to our clients that their data is safe. It also allows us to bid for more UK Government contracts and frameworks.
