Create business rules

The rules that your organisation follows daily may be significant or almost so small your staff follow them without even noticing but no matter the process, the rules are the oil that make it work smoothly.

Within our solutions you can define simple field level rules such as:

• Acceptable date ranges
• Valid field formats (e.g. AXNN-NAA for post codes)
• Pre-fill drop downs from company directory or other internal systems
• Database lookups to check field value exists within database
• Entry required to allows submit
• Hide or show a field depending on the value in another field

More complex rules can be implemented within script, such as:

• Check a credit card number is valid
• Match a post code to a full address
• Perform web call to 3rd party validation system (e.g. fraud checking or car detail lookup from registration)
• Calculating payment due dates or interest rates based on set algorithms

Once the form data capture rules have been created, if the form is going to be part of a workflow, then the process business rules can be applied.

Our solutions allows for off-the-shelf or bespoke rules to be used within a process. If the same rules are used repeatedly in many processes, for example retrieving the eMail address of a form fillers manager, then they can be created as custom objects within your system for simple access from any process. These rules could include examples such as:

• Decide on notification or process recipients based on relationships
• Bespoke interactions with other line of business applications
• Convert process items to PDF/A files for archival
• Execute Stored Procedures or queries within a SQL database
