Frequently Asked Questions - TeleForm Data Auto Exports

Forms processed through TeleForm can have their data exported to a number of destinations. Up to 16 different data exports can be configured for each form design.

  • Raw data can be exported into database tables as well as text file formats
  • Images can be stored and archived off, linked with filename data
  • Reports can be produced and triggered

Multiple exports from TeleForm

Data exports can be configured to many different formats, including:

  • SQL, Oracle, dBase, Paradox
  • Microsoft Access, Excel
  • Any other ODBC-compliant data structure
  • CSV (Comma Separated Values), DEL files (Delimited data), XML
  • SPSS (SAV file)
  • Your own custom formats (completely scriptable exports via VBA)

Image exports can be set up to various formats, including:

  • TIFF (single or multi-page formats)
  • DCX
  • JPEG
  • PDF
  • Any other image formats (using custom conversion scripts if required)

ePC have worked with various reporting tools (in conjunction to our eFlex module) to Access Reports, Crystal Reports, ActivePDF, etc. With eFlex, you can even configure these to be automatically emailed to the right people within your business.

To set up an auto-export, follow the procedure below:

  1. In TeleForm Designer, open up your form template.
  2. From the Form menu, select Auto Export Setup...
  3. Click the New button. Choose a data format for the export on the drop-down list. Click Save As... to choose a destination file/table for the data. TeleForm will create new data files during its first export. If exporting to a database, a new table will be set up automatically by TeleForm if it doesn't already exist. All field types will be configured as required.
  4. Next, click on the Fields tab to choose which fields from the form you want to export. Note, sometimes it is easier to just make sure that all the fields are enabled, however you can turn some off if they aren't required.
  5. Click OK
  6. Finally, choose the newly-created export in the list and click the Enable option. Click OK to close the export configuration screen. Once you save your changes to the form, the export will be active. Future processing of the form will trigger the exports automatically.
